Marist Network

When founding the Marist Institute in 1817, São Marcellin Champagnat began the mission of collaborating in building a more human world through education and evangelization. The Marist network, philanthropic and non-profit institution, is the fruit of this history and continuing a bicentennial legacy thanks to the dedication of more than 9 thousand people.
They are Marist brothers and professionals from different specialties that daily promote life in the areas of Education, Social, Health and Amazon.

Institute of the Brain of Rio Grande do Sul (Inser)
Acting in the Amazon region.
In total, there are more than 23 thousand students in basic education and 40,000 in higher education. Annually, there are more than 100,000 calls per year in the health area.

Maristas in Brazil
The first Marist brothers arrived in the country in 1897, willing to continue the project to train good Christians and virtuous citizens, through full education, of the pedagogy of presence, of the spirit of family and love to work. Today, Brazil hosts more than 30% of the Marist performance in the world.

In addition to the Marist Network, Brazil counts on two other administrative units - Central-North Marist and Marist Group - responsible for the presence in the other regions of country. The three units gather as associated by the Marist Union of Brazil (Umbrasil). Headquartered in Brasilia, it is a legal organization of private law, non-profit and that, based on Christian principles and values, represents, articulates and potentiates Marist presence and action in Brazil.
